The diversity of this panel insures the selection of the best overall screenplay without bias towards criteria such as marketability, production cost, genre preference or suitability for certain talent associated with the reader. About Our Judges
Brent Armitage: Writer - Producer - Director - Entrepreneur
Brent Armitage combines more than 20 years experience as a writer, producer and director. Of his most notable credits is the acclaimed black comedy gem, Grosse Pointe Blank, on which he was a producer. He has written and/or produced projects for Warner Brothers, Columbia Pictures, Sandollar, Columbia TriStar Pictures, Imagine Entertainment and Granada Films among others. Armitage’s passion for writing inspired his recent adaptation of Ranulph Fiennes’ best-selling novel The Feather Men.
After starting his career as an actor, Armitage moved behind the camera on such projects as Swing Shift and Miami Blues then launched his writing career with his adaptation of the Gregory MacDonald novel Scutter. Other screenplay credits include Mr. Personality and Sideswipe. He is currently developing several projects through his New Shoes Productions and is planning to direct his first feature this summer.
Michael Hauge: Author - Script Consultant - Workshop Leader
MICHAEL HAUGE is a script consultant, screenwriter, author and lecturer who works with writers, filmmakers and executives on their screenplays, film projects and development skills. He has recently coached writers or consulted on projects for Warner Brothers, Paramount, Disney, Columbia, New Line, CBS, Lifetime, Morgan Freeman, Jennifer Lopez and Julia Roberts. He also shares story credit on Heart Of The Atom, now in pre-production for director Luis Mandoki.
Michael’s book "Writing Screenplays That Sell," now in its twenty-fifth printing for HarperCollins, is a definitive reference book for the film and television industries. He has presented his screenwriting seminars and lectures to more than 20,000 writers and filmmakers throughout the US, Canada and Europe, and is on the Board of Directors for the American Screenwriting Association and the Advisory Board for Scriptwriter Magazine in London.
Lauren Iungerich: Development Executive - Screenwriter - Producer
Ms. Iungerich is the former head of development for RKO Pictures. She has worked closely with writers and directors throughout her career and has developed and packaged numerous feature films. Currently, Lauren is writing a feature for Warner Bros. and has several additional projects in development.
Jill McElroy: Literary Manager - Development Executive
Ms. McElroy is a literary manger and development executive at the management/production company Benderspink. She is currently developing a wide array of projects set up at different Hollywood studios, as well as helping launch the careers of up-and-coming writers and directors. Her main focus is to find fresh new voices and break them through the Hollywood wall that many find so indestructible.
